Hello everyone! My name is Zoey, and I am in the final year of my Diploma in Psychology Studies at Temasek Polytechnic. Meeting new people and transitioning to working life as an intern was frightening for me as a quiet person. However, thanks to everyone’s hospitality and kindness during my first few weeks, this feeling gradually lifted.

I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to intern at the 365 Cancer Prevention Society (365CPS). Throughout my 16-week internship, I was greeted with unending warmth and kindness from everyone, whether at the Headquarters or the Social Service Centers. This internship allowed me to expand my knowledge as well as my personal development. I was able to participate in a variety of tasks that facilitated new learning and allowed me to apply my knowledge. Furthermore, the insights, thoughts, and ideas shared by my colleagues have opened my eyes to new perspectives in life. To better understand others and myself, I am now learning to improve and change certain unhelpful thought patterns.

365CPS provided me with a holistic learning experience that allowed me to explore other departments in society besides my own, such as my attachment with Clementi’s Social Service Centers and the opportunity to participate in Ang Bao Blessings for Chinese New Year 2023. This provided me with a better understanding of the services they offer, as well as a better opportunity to interact with and understand our members. It is extremely rewarding to see and hear that members are feeling or doing better as a result of the services. In addition, I had the opportunity to be present for our clients in times of need. Seeing how 365CPS goes above and beyond to support our members warms my heart.

It was an excellent environment for learning and applying knowledge. My supervisor and department’s patience and flexibility enabled me to learn and explore at a good pace. It also has helped expand my critical thinking and idea creativity. I would like to thank everyone, especially my department (Clinical Services Resource and Research Center), for facilitating holistic learning and sharing deep insights that will benefit me throughout my life.
