Every year 365 Cancer Prevention Society (365CPS) organises a CNY Ang Pow Blessing to members in need during this festive period. In the flurry of the festivities, it is inevitable that some of our members with low economic status would feel left out. Therefore, 365CPS extends a helping hand to these members to bless them with an Ang Pow to tide them over. The members will use the small token accorded through the Ang Pow to buy staples for themselves and family. It is a time for celebrations and no one should be left out on this major Chinese Lunar festive. This simple gesture also provides the members encouragement and assurance that we are here with them every step of the way.

The annual CNY Ang Pow Blessing was made possible by the many helping hands we are graced with. We are grateful for the volunteers who are with us to members’ home to spend some time to catch up on their well-being and updates on their health. We would like to take this opportunity to thank donors of 365CPS as it with their generous support that this annual CNY Ang Pow Blessing to needy members can continue. A heartfelt Thank You for being a part of this project!

Personally, I remember this particular incident where we were about to leave a member’s house and she expressed, “it must be tough and tiring on all of you to go to each and every household in this gruelling weather, bearing gifts and Ang Pow for us – thank you as such help is practical to us”. I smiled and assured her that it is not tough at all compared to the struggles our members have been through – facing the daunting treatments for Cancer as well as challenges on the home front while they continue to fulfil their roles and responsibilities as best they can with compromised physique. She replied “we are happy not because of the Ang Pow Blessing but it is to see you and team visiting us and spending time with us, according us space to let us share our challenges or tribulations with you. Often, all we need is a listening ear and guidance to point us to the right resources in the community to help us out during this downtime when we are fighting Cancer ”. This warmed our hearts and gave us the encouragement and strength to continue doing what we do best by providing that care and support to members by journeying with them.
