It was formed based on our past experiences, our beliefs towards ourselves and the world around us. Our decision on how to perceive and respond to the situation largely affects how our mindset was shaped.<\/p>\n<p>A fixed mindset assumes our ability was static and can\u2019t be changed in any meaningful way. A person with a fixed mindset often perceives setbacks and adversity as failure. He or she would have been focusing on avoiding failure at all cost in the past occasions.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, a growth mindset perceives setbacks and adversity as challenges and opportunities to learn and to develop. A person with a growth mindset believes failure and mistakes are not evidences of incompetency, but as springboards for future growth and development.
