AYA cancers refer to cancers affecting an individual aged 15 to 39 when diagnosed.

BCGBacillus Calmette-Guérin
A type of vaccine for tuberculosis, also used in immunotherapy for bladder cancer.
BMTBone Marrow Transplant
A type of treatment used for certain cancers of the blood or bone marrow.
BRCA genesBreast Cancer genes
Includes BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes.
Individuals carrying a mutation of BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes are at greater risk of developing breast cancer at a younger age compared to the general population.

CACancer Antigen
Refers to proteins or molecules that are only present in cancer cells.
Examples: CA15-3, CA19-9, CA-125

DCISDuctal Carcinoma In Situ
An early form of breast cancer.

Refers to two types of growth factors called TGFα and TGFβ.
TNMTumor, Node, Metastasis
The TNM classification is a commonly used system to stage cancers.
T: describes the primary tumor (the size of the tumor); range from T0 to T4
N: describes the neighboring lymph nodes (whether the cancer had spread there); range from N0 to N3
M: indicates whether metastasis has occurred (whether the cancer had spread to other body parts); range from M0 to M1
