As we use overthinking to deal with our stressors, it can become a bad habit, leading to negative consequences. Hence, we need to take steps to prevent and manage our overthinking before it affects us negatively in our daily life.

First and foremost, it is important to recognise and acknowledge your overthinking as well as understanding situations that trigger your overthinking. Once you are able to sense that you are overthinking, take steps to manage and prevent it from becoming a bad habit such as distracting yourself and talking to a professional.
